Happy Martin Luther King Jr. Day! I'm adding a bonus fact, just for today! Enjoy!
TWILIGHT FACT NUMBER 1:
The new casting company in charge of New Moon has announced they are looking for Native Americans.
“For months, Twilight fans have been sending us their submissions for the Native American roles in “New Moon,” despite the fact that we have announced on several occasions that we are not casting it.
(We did put out an open casting call for some of the Native American roles in “Twilight,” but since the sequel is shooting in Vancouver, we knew that new casting companies would come on board to hire the actors.)
We’re very excited to announce that the wonderful and supremely qualified René Haynes is helming the Native American casting on “New Moon”…AND she wants to hear from everyone who fits the qualifications of the roles.”

TWILIGHT FACT NUMBER 2:
Movie Maniacs have a six part video of behind the scenes footage of the Twilight movie:
Part 1, see twilighters.org
Also see Part 2, Part 3, Part 4, Part 5, and Part 6.
TWILIGHT FACT NUMBER 3:
Fans of Twilight star Robert Pattinson often mistake him for Edward Cullen, the alluring vampire he plays in the blockbuster film. But Rob, 22, insists he’s nothing like the brooding Edward.
“I’m not stiff as Edward. I want to have fun,” says Pattinson. “He’s this 108-year-old adult [trapped inside a 17-year-old body], but I’m still a 6-year-old boy [at heart],” he laughs.
Rob’s moving portrayal of the introspective, lovelorn vampire has won him millions of admirers around the world. But Pattinson—who says he’s unattached—finds the hysteria inconvenient.
“I don’t like going outside anymore,” he jokes. “It’s so embarrassing to see pictures of yourself at the airport when you look terrible.” Indeed, Rob—now a major paparazzi target—gets photographed wherever he goes.

TWILIGHT BONUS FACT NUMBER 1:
New Moon’s IMDB page has a list of taglines, just note that they are not 100% official. What do you guys think about them? Or can you come up with a better one?
It will be as though I never existed.
Forbidden to Remember; Terrified to Forget.
Somewhere, a clock is ticking.
When you can’t be with the one you love, will you stay with the one who loves you?

Kristen is an MTV Female MVP:
Yeah, we all know Stewart will be hard at work on “Twilight” sequel “New Moon” in 2009, but the girl known as Bella Swan also has a slew of other projects this year that are sure to solidify her status as a Hollywood “it” girl. Twilighters can catch Kristen in several films, including “Adventureland,” in which she plays a rocker chick, as well as “Welcome to the Riley’s,” in which she plays an exotic dancer. She was also hand-picked to play Joan Jett in a Runaways biopic.
Kristen’s upcoming film, Adventureland, also made MTV’s list of “Top 10 Films We’re Most Eager To See At The 2009 Sundance Film Festival.” See them all here!

It’s Pop Week at MTV & they came up with a list of top male MVP’s, of course, including Rob:
After making millions of girls want to have a vampire love affair in “Twilight,” English heartthrob Robert Pattinson will reprise his role as Edward Cullen in this year’s “New Moon.” But he also hopes to wow audiences as the young surrealist painter Salvador Dalí in the film “Little Ashes,” which chronicles the early life of the brilliant artist and explores his romantic relationship with poet Federico García Lorca, played by Javier Beltran.

TWILIGHT FACT NUMBER 1:
Rob won the Z Awards 2008 poll as Hottie of the Year, here! (Whoo!)
Also, remember to keep voting for Rob a the HelloMagazine poll here
TWILIGHT FACT NUMBER 2:
The rumor that was released earlier today is false according to Recordonline.com
A report tying Washingtonville film director James Mangold to the third installment of the “Twilight” saga “Eclipse,” has been called false by a studio official.
Paul Pfluge, head of corporate communications for Summit Entertainment - which controls the “Twilight” property - said a report by trade publication Production Weekly that said Summit was “in talks” with the director were “not accurate.”
Read it here
TWILIGHT FACT NUMBER 3:
The Hollywood Reporter has an interview with Summit Entertainments CEO, Rob Friedman, and President, Patrick Wachsberger, and they mention the Twilight franchise:
THR: Despite the success, you’re going in a bit of a different creative direction with Chris Weitz directing “New Moon,” the sequel.
Patrick Wachsberger: If you look at “Harry Potter” — or other movies sort of like “Harry Potter,” I shouldn’t compare — but they change director every movie. The second book is slightly different. (There are) new characters and more visual effects. Catherine (Hardwicke) did a fantastic job (on “Twilight”), and there is a naturalistic feel to the movie that she created and we’re going to keep. The first movie was very good, and we hope the second movie (will) be even better.
THR: Will “New Moon” stay in the same $38 million budget range?Friedman: No. The next one will be higher than that. We believe that the film will naturally be more expensive. Sequels become more expensive, and we have more special effects.Wachsberger: And locations. In the second movie there is a sequence in Italy.
THR: There is talk that because Edward is out of the picture for much of “New Moon,” there will be elements of the second and third books combined into the second movie.
Wachsberger: No, but Edward is present for the movie.

TWILIGHT FACT NUMBER 1:
Cartoonize the World artists have now cartoonized Robert Pattinson! Check it out at

TWILIGHT FACT NUMBER 2:
EW online has an article on 2009 being the year of the werewolf on the big screen:
Take a gander at the big screen this year because you’re likely to spy a full moon. If 2008 marked a comeback for the vampire, the next 12 months belong to the werewolf. On Jan. 23, Underworld: Rise of the Lycans showcases the woolly beasts, while a furrier-than-usual Hugh Jackman returns in X-Men Origins: Wolverine (May 1). Later this year, Benicio Del Toro stars in The Wolfman (Nov. 6), and in the Nov. 20 Twilight sequel New Moon, heroine Bella moons over werewolf Jacob.
TWILIGHT FACT NUMBER 3:
iFmagazine.com has a new article confirming Edi Gathegi will be in New Moon!
THE SKINNY: While speaking about his role as a Sheriff Deputy in the new horror film MY BLOODY VALENTINE 3-D (which opens this Friday), actor Edi Gathegi confirmed to iF Magazine that he will indeed be in the new TWILIGHT sequel NEW MOON reprising his role as the vampire Laurent set to commence under director Chris Weitz.

According to Vanessa’s rep, she has NOT auditioned as Leah:
Vanessa Hudgens has NOT auditioned for New Moon, her rep tells JustJaredJr.com.
The 20-year-old singer/actress reportedly auditioned for the Twilight sequel for the role of werewolf Leah Clearwater.
“I don’t know anything about the audition,”Vanessa’s rep tells JJJ. “As far as I know, it’s just a rumor.”
Seems that Ashley Greene’s comment about Vanessa was taken way out of context because SpoilerTV is reporting that the character of Leah isn’t even being cast for!
